Iceland is a rugged country, and the nature has had to accommodate this ruggedness.

The images below are taken at each of the 128 shooting opportunities during out 2016 tour which included the 3 bonus days. The gallery shows just one image per stop.
While it is known as a country of fire and ice, those forces have created some amazing landscapes.
The people and culture of iceland are part of what make it a magical place to visit. Any place that believes in trolls and fairies has to be magical.

This was part of an incredible tour organized by iAmIceland.is.The Vestmannaeyjar (Westman) Island archipelago just off the south coast of Iceland, and a very beautiful location. The volcanic archipelago includes the island of Surtsey which came into existence with a year long eruptions in 1963.
Our visit included a tour of the island which centred around the 1973 eruption of the Eldfell volcano on the main island, including a visit to a museum which told the story of the eruption.
A visit to a puffin colony on one of the islands was definitely a highlight, and included a demonstration of the technique that is used to catch puffins.
